The municipality of Achkout signed a cooperation agreement with the Lebanese Canadian University (LCU), which provides university scholarships to the children of the town, in addition to organizing cultural projects, educational and academic training serving both parties, as it seeks to secure university opportunities for all Lebanese youth despite the economic hardship experienced by the country. The signing ceremony was held at the municipality of Achkout, at the invitation of Mayor Alexandre Rizk and the presence of the members of the municipal council: Dr. Mireille Chidiac El- Hajj, Engineer Mr Toni Khalil  Chidiac , Mr. Charbel Risk and Mr. Elie Seif. The delegation was headed by the university’s president Dr. Rony Abi Nakhle and Vice President of the Board of Trustees Director of the Office of Admission and Registration Rania Habib. Abi Nakhle presented an upward path that has been achieved since its establishment and the academic advantages of the university and its new specialties which provide guaranteed employment opportunities for young people. He also presented a documentary detailing the specialties, programs and scholarships available at the university. In addition, Mr. Rizk thanked the university's president and administration for their "pioneering initiative in serving the people of the Keserwan  region". He praised the high academic level, the educational and national role played by the university through its studied and calculated university fees and competencies that meet the needs of the labor market and its conformity with the world's largest universities in terms of appropriations, academic level, social and national responsibility. Everyone drank toast celebrating the event after the agreement was signed.
